Clearwater Program Update - Comment Form

The Sanitation Districts encourage community input and your comments and suggestions are appreciated.

1. Clearwater Program Objectives. Rank the five main objectives of the Clearwater Program from 1 to 5 (with 1 being the highest), based on importance to you:
Protect public health and the environment
Increase opportunities for the reuse of reclaimed water
Accommodate additional dry weather urban runoff
Replace/repair aging infrastructure
Ensure adequate capacity

2. Screening Criteria. Rank the six overall screening criteria of the Clearwater Program from 1 to 6 (with 1 being the highest), based on importance to you:
Resource conservation (e.g., energy, water)
Environmental protection (e.g., biological resources, air quality)

Public health and safety
Operational considerations (e.g., reliability, flexibility)

3. Recycled Water.
What is your opinion when it comes to using recycled water (highly treated wastewater) for groundwater recharge, industrial uses and irrigation of golf courses, parks, schools, etc.? (Please check one box.)

5. Accommodating Future Population Growth. Managing future wastewater flows will likely result in the need for additional treatment facilities and an expanded sewer system. Rank your preferences among the following 3 alternatives for system expansion (with 1 being the highest).
Expand the Joint Water Pollution Control Plant in Carson
Expand existing inland Water Reclamation Plants
Build new Water Reclamation Plants

6. Potential Shaft Sites.
Fourteen potential construction shaft sites have been identified as meeting the minimum technical criteria. The Sanitation Districts would like to reduce these to a smaller number of feasible sites. Do you support or oppose any of the identified potential shaft sites; if so, please state reasons why.
